President Fran and our Club members were very pleased to  welcome, President Elect Rotarian Kwaddwa Ronald Ssentongo, to their  Breakfast Meeting as guest speaker, on 26th June, 2009.

PE Rtn Ronald is a member of the Kasangati Rotary Club, in Uganda, which is one of our Contact Clubs.

He gave an excellent presentation on his Rotary Club's projects and the Matching Grant our Clubs have recently been involved in.

Having arrived from Uganda, the previous Sunday to attend the RI Convention in Birmingham, he was able to spend a few days in Eastbourne after the Convention, before returning home.

This was his first visit to the UK and my family and I had the pleasure of hosting him. We started off by taking him to London for the day to see all the famous sights, courtesy of the hop on, hop off, London Bus Tour.

Ronald from UgandaPresident Fran and Rtn Hilary took him to Brighton for the day to visit the Brighton Pavilion and gave him a shopping experience which he will probably not forget in a hurry!

Friday evening, our guest enjoyed an informal meal with members, family and friends in a local Italian restuarant.

Finally, a trip into Eastbourne to buy the latest Manchester United football shirt and that last minute shopping was a must, followed by a tour of Eastbourne and the surrounding countryside, including a pub lunch at Alfriston.

The evening was spent enjoying a home cooked family meal and packing for an early start in the morning, back to Birmingham International, for his flight back to Uganda.

President Elect Rotarian Ronald conveys his thanks to President Fran and all the Members of Eastbourne AM Rotary Club, for making his visit so enjoyable, one he will always remember.
